Homework Policy:
- The purpose of homework is to give students the opportunity to extend their classroom learning, practice critical academia skills, engage in critical thinking, and develop good work habits needed in higher education. Homework is also a form of communication between the teacher, student, and family. It is important, however, that homework does not add stress to the life of the student and family.
- In terms of responsibility, students are expected to understand what is assigned for the day and ask questions during class is assignment is unclear. Homework will be posted each day on this site under the Homework tab, as well as written down each morning before instruction begins. However, it is the students' responsibility to know and understand the directions for the assignment.
- It is the students' responsibility to bring all necessary materials home to complete assignments, complete all assignments to the best of his or her ability, make up missed homework, and return all materials and assignments on time. Homework is expected to take 30 to 40 minutes a night to complete.
- If homework is exceeding more than one hour every night, please attach a note to your child's homework explaining the reasoning for this.
- If homework is creating stress within your child and he or she is struggling completing an assignment, do not continue; send a note for your child to hand to me in school and I will further reinforce the concept to him or her in class. Feel free to also contact me via email or the website under the Contact Me tab.
